The project

The Women Can Build initiative was launched in 2017 with a strong commitment to raising awareness, increasing women's interest in the construction sector, and helping to break down cultural barriers

Context

In 2017, women made up just 8.8% of the construction workforce. By 2023, this figure had risen to 11.2%. Despite this growth, female representation in the industry remains lower than desired.

This is why initiatives like Women Can Build are so important. They bring the reality of the sector closer to more women and raise awareness of the benefits of pursuing a career in construction.

Aims

The primary goal of the Women Can Build LatAm project is to support and facilitate transnational cooperation for the exchange of best practices and knowledge in vocational training. With a focus on female workforce participation in the construction sector, the initiative aims to strengthen social cohesion both within and between countries in Europe and Latin America.
