Women Can Build was launched in 2017 with a strong commitment to raising awareness, increasing women’s interest in the construction sector, and overcoming cultural barriers

The Women Can Build initiative...

seeks to promote a paradigm shift in the construction sector towards a more equal, attractive and socially responsible model, through training. This change involves developing actions aimed at different audiences:

Attracting women to the sector, highlighting those activities with greater potential for effective entry into the labour market.
Incorporating a gender perspective in Vocational Education and Training centres.
Advising companies in the sector to support the transition of construction towards greater awareness and gender balance.

For three years, the Women Can Build consortium worked together to foster women’s interest in the construction sector, developing:

A MOOC for teachers in the sector with a gender perspective.
An immersive experience.
A guidance handbook for Vocational Education and Training centres to support women.
An action plan for companies committed to female inclusion.

The success achieved, particularly in Spain and Italy, inspired the creation of Women Can Build LatAm, with the support of Erasmus+, to transfer these good practices to Chile and Argentina in training and employability.
