On Thursday 21 August, representatives of the Catholic University of Temuco and RedMaestra, both partners of the ‘Women Can Build LatAm’ project, met with the Division of University Education of the Sub-Secretariat for Higher Education of the Chilean Ministry of Education to share the objectives and main achievements of this initiative, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
The ‘Women Can Build LatAm’ project seeks to promote capacity-building and encourage knowledge transfer between training organisations in the construction sector from Europe and Latin America. The consortium, established over a year ago, is structured around three strategic pillars:
- Enhancing the labour inclusion of women in the construction sector.
- Delivering gender-sensitive training to trainers and teachers.
- Encouraging the involvement of private sector stakeholders engaged in the design and development of the construction process.
During the meeting, the Chilean partner organisations also presented the programme of the project’s final event, which will take place on 25 September at the European Parliament Office in Madrid (Spain) and will be broadcast live internationally.
The meeting also served to strengthen ties with the Ministry of Education and to pave the way for potential future collaborations with European universities, particularly in the field of training and capacity building.
