The growth in social security affiliation in construction compared to 2023 was 1.9%. In the case of women, this increase reached 3.5%, which is a more pronounced change than that observed in men in the sector (1.7%), and even higher than the increase registered for women workers in the overall economy (3.3%).

The report indicates that women in the sector work more frequently in the General Regime (73.6%) than in the Self-Employed Regime (26.4%), with permanent contracts (92.8%) and full-time hours (75.7%, six points above the overall sector average).

Likewise, they are mainly concentrated in two activities: “Specialised Construction Activities”, grouping 51% of female affiliates, and “Building Construction”, with 44.7%. Together, these two account for 95.6% of women in the sector; while “Civil Engineering” accounts for the remaining 4.4% of female affiliations in the sector.
