Fundación Laboral de la Construcción has taken part in the Innovation, Industry and Construction Congress (IC2), a key forum for the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the sector, held in Santander (Spain).
In this context, on 4 June, Beatriz Oliete, Head of International Projects at the organisation, delivered a presentation in the Ernest Lluch Hall entitled “International partnerships as platforms for cooperation towards equality in the construction sector”. During her intervention, she presented the Women Can Build initiatives and their trajectory and impact in advancing gender equality within the construction sector.
During her presentation, Oliete highlighted the strategic role of international partnerships as a driving force for promoting gender equality in a traditionally male-dominated sector. In this regard, she emphasised the importance of collaboration between organisations, countries and key stakeholders to generate a real and sustainable impact over time, ensuring a more equal and resilient sector.
One of the central elements of the presentation was the Women Can Build initiatives, which promote the recruitment and retention of women in the construction sector, with particular focus on the latest project, Women Can Build LatAm, aimed at fostering equality in both Europe and Latin America.
Through this project, training activities, knowledge exchange and international cooperation actions have been developed, helping to strengthen women’s skills in the sector and to foster collaborative networks on both sides of the Atlantic.
