On January 17, the PEDMEDE headquarters in Athens hosted the biannual meeting of the Conference on Project Development (CPD) Network, a European network bringing together training institutions committed to the modernization and innovation of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the construction sector.

During the event, Andrés Mella, International Projects Technician at the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, presented the progress of the Women Can Build LatAm and Construye 2030 Plus projects, both led by the organization. These initiatives aim to boost technical training, sustainability, and gender inclusion in construction, promoting access to innovative VET that meets the sector’s current challenges.

The Women Can Build LatAm project, developed in collaboration with countries such as Spain, Italy, Argentina, and Chile, was highlighted for its focus on integrating women into technical trades through training and awareness-raising among businesses. Meanwhile, Construye 2030 Plus presented its progress in developing sustainability and digitalization strategies to transform the construction sector and align it with European climate goals.

The CPD meeting served as a platform to exchange best practices and explore new collaboration opportunities among various European VET stakeholders in construction. In addition to the Fundación’s projects, other initiatives shared their impact in areas such as energy transition, digitalization, and improving employability within the sector.

The active participation of Fundación Laboral de la Construcción reaffirms its commitment to innovation in vocational training and its leadership in initiatives advocating for a more sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready construction sector.
