The Women Can Build LatAm project has produced three specialised infographics that examine, from different perspectives, the reality, challenges and opportunities for women in the construction sector (available in Spanish).

Each infographic is tailored to a specific audience: construction companies, training providers and teaching staff, and women workers in the sector; and brings together the research carried out by the partners and the analysis of data from Spain, Italy, Argentina and Chile.

The infographics highlight key data on the gender gap in construction: while in Spain 46.7% of the total labour force is female, only 11.2% work in construction; in Argentina this figure drops to 4.3%; in Italy it reaches 10%, and in Chile 8.2%.

Beyond the numbers, the materials describe critical aspects of women’s presence in the sector, such as gender stereotypes, pay inequality, occupational segregation and the concentration of female talent in administrative roles instead of technical positions. However, they also identify concrete opportunities, such as growing demand in digitalisation and sustainability, areas where female talent can play a transformative role.

Recognising that inclusion requires coordinated action among the different stakeholders in the sector, the infographics present four strategic levers to drive change:

• Policy: inclusive regulations and institutional frameworks.
• Training: technical education open to women, with new teaching approaches.
• Women’s leadership: mentoring, support networks and the visibility of role models.
• Workplace infrastructure: internal protocols, inclusive language and decent working conditions.
